As recently as 15 or so years ago, saving yourself until marriage (and by legal extension, past the age of 18) was considered a goal, prevented only by low willpower or irresponsible mistakes. I know times have changed, and these days kids don't give a care about that kind of stuff (or even less than before), but there's no way it's changed so drastically that it isn't even normal to NOT have had sex yet. Seriously, setting morality norms aside, there's no way the majority of kids that young could even manage to find a willing partner.
I'm inclined to think anyone among your peers who'd call you weird for that is just trying to make themselves feel better about their own choices, or is in your situation but wants to make it sound like they're not.
On a side note, your mother nagging you to date someone -probably- isn't encouraging you to have sex, since she's from the aforementioned waiting-for-marriage generation. Just saying.

You couldn't be more wrong here, in my honest opinion. That is my experience at 24 years old.
IIN I've never had sex?
