While I don't agree with violence since it doesn't solve anything, it was somewhat acceptable in your case because you hit her in self defense. I have nothing against slow people, they can't help being that way, but I wouldn't say it's an excuse to badmouth or attact someone for no reason. In schools where I live, there are special classes for mentally retarded students. But I don't know about anywhere else.
It was an elective so all students are able be in those. Also mosr the kids They put in Those classes are not retarded but just to lazy to work so they get treated diffrent. In cases if fighting they blame child in reguluar classes in that case it was me. I think all kids need to take a class how to deal with retarded kids if they are going to treat the normal kids like monsters for not knowing how to handle it.
Is it normal I think they add classes to deal with retarded people?

Its not self defense if you hit someone in the head as they are walking away.
I do agree with you though OP, kids can't be expected to know how to deal with these situations. I'd have trouble in that situation now myself.
