          Following a equation that I unfortunately can't paste here, it concludes "This relationship between the half-life and the decay constant shows that highly radioactive substances are quickly spent, while those that radiate weakly endure longer."

          • Well yes, if you are stuck in a meltdown, iodine-131 (half life 8 days) if a terrible threat. But since,
            N(t) = N_0 2^{-t/t_{1/2}}, strontium-90 (half life 29 years) will nail you with long range exposure.
