Is it normal i think swype lines on smart phones are symbols?

I think Swype lines are more than just lines. I think we will eventually use the symbols they create for a written language, like Japanese characters or something. They look like some kind of ancient writing to me and i am thinking about practicing this writing on paper (actually i already have a little bit) so i can be ahead of everyone else when this happens.
