  • It's been proven that sexual development starts around age six. So yes people aren't born gay....but so close to it that you may as well say they are.

I don't even know why people post such idiotic questions sometimes....did not one person at IIN study sexual development at school?

      • I agree with this. I think sexuality has a lot of different factors. Also one can never be born gay as you are not born with a sexuality. All the hormones are there but they are rarely ever expressed till later years. I dont think we can look at our children being born and say "Well its a gay one"! and "Well its a straight one". We also have many people who are masochistic which I think can develop from a number of different things. I had a slight idea from a young age what I was going to be into sexually but it was I think partly based on this violent streak I always seemed to have. So not so much which gender I would be into just some of the fetishes I would be into.

      • I only said it because it's not a thing you can have an "opinion" on, you either learnt and know or you don't know at all. Not really room for opinions when talking about facts. I'm not trying to offend you, it just seems pointless to say something knowing it's not true.

    • "sexual development starts around age six. So yes people aren't born gay"

Load of crap. People are born tiny, but their physical height is determined by genetics and is pre-set before birth. Sexual preference is genetic, it has been confirmed that it's not a choice.

      • I didn't say it was a choice, infact my comment confirms that it is not. At age six you don't choose do you, it developes internally until it manifests at a later period in life. In some earlier than others, myself for instance as i began thinking about sex at age 9.

It's fact that below the age of 6 you have no underlying sex drive, but after then you do.

And there is no proof that genetics play any part although they could, but it isn't really an issue.

So learn to read before you type, and also learn about the "context" of words.

What i'm talking about is taught in schools. And What you just said comes from no more than assumption unless ofcourse you are the first human to prove it.

        • I heard there was a new study proving some sort of genetic difference between gay and straight people, but I haven't actually looked into it myself yet.

I think it's kind of funny how hung up people get over issues of sexuality. Why does it have to be one thing all your life? Our personalities change, as do our preferences. My taste in men (and women :P) has changed a lot over the course of my life. Why can't sexuality too be a fluid thing?

I don't disagree with you. Genetics just don't matter as much as a persons entire personality manifests after being born and learning through enviromental factors. Many people are totally different from their parents in personality, meaning genetics play a lesser part. And i hardly think people are born evil!

Genetics probably do play a part, but a small part.

          Umm, no. There is evidence.

Google "genetic link to sexual orientation" to find it.

              • It's not proof. There has been no conclusion as to the matter in any sense. That's why it isn't part of any schooling one would take on the matter. As i said it probably does play a part, but it's a small part considering the entire personality of an individual develops after being born. It's almost straight out common sense.
