You are not the only person in the US who is ashamed. Also if you look up the videos of the US patriots that is what they say. However really you could be a patriot of any country. I think more people should be patriots. Patriots give a shit about a country.
We need people to give a shit so we can get shit done. If no one pays attention to shit going on the people committing the crimes and destroying the governments of the world will never be held accountable. The power is not with the government. It is with the people.
People ignore the shit going on and so it never gets fixed. Till one day everything collapses and people wonder what the fuck they are going to do. It happened before and its happening again. This type of shit will continue to happen from country to country.
We are not immune to it no-matter where we are from. This is why people need to pay attention but they don't. They don't care and wont. 90 percent of the people in this world are nothing but mindless sheep following each other off the cliff. You know who eats the dead sheep? Its the wolves. Do you know who the wolves are? CROOKED GOVERNMENT!
This goes for japan, US, China, Mexico, Korea, Russia, Germany, Africa, any other place on this planet you can name. Corruption is the down fall and it always will be. People can stop it.

I do not disagree with much you've said. Unfortunately, after 40 odd years of fighting the injustices in the US, I'm just plain tired. I belong to moveon.org. and do what I can through them, but I'm too old and beaten down by nearly half a century of caring and seeing hings deteriorating rather than improving and voting for the lesser of two evils, to be more active. Just today I read that Texas has passed a tougher anti-abortion law!
