I don't give a shit what you think of my post (or of anything else for that matter, LOL). Nobody forced you to read it.
"Half the shit is down to interpretation anyway, like the "mutilation" one.
It's funny that Christians take certain Biblical stuff literal, and think certain other stuff has to be interpreted. Do they have ANY criterion for deciding this? Nope.
You've misunderstood me. The "I don't care"-part pertained EXCLUSIVELY to you finding my post too long and boring to read. Actual substance is always welcome. Perhaps I should've been a bit clearer.
You're correct, not all Christians think alike (certainly not with all the HUNDREDS of contradictions in the Bible, many on VITAL aspects of Christianity I might add). However, It seems to me that most non-fundamentalist Christians don't really believe in the Bible; they only pretend to do so. Some don't even pretend -- yet all claim to base their beliefs upon it. This seems dishonest to me.
There is no figurative way of interpreting Leviticus 20:13 or Exodus 22:18, for example. You either think it's a good idea to kill homosexuals and witches or you don't. If you don't, then say so -- and then be honest enough to admit that the Bible is neither a good moral guide nor the inspired word of God.
I have to mention that Jesus was a person who lived in days long forgotten, and the moral standards back then where completely different. Therefore, Jesus had quite modern views, imo.
Also, it's bad to reply like this to people trying to answer your questions.

I think a lot of the stuff he said was wrong in ANY timeframe or culture. I'm not too fond of moral relativism BTW. To me, it simply means excusing the inexcusable.
"Also, it's bad to reply like this to people trying to answer your questions."
I appreciate the fact that you were trying to answer me. However, the way in which you went about doing so (saying stuff like "I can understand why you like him" for example), CLEARLY wasn't sound. That isn't MY fault.
I'm not sure how familiar you are with the english language, but I meant 'you' as in 'a not specified person', not 'you' as in 'the guy who started this thread'.
No, English isn't my first language, I happen to be Dutch. Still, your use of the word "you" was VERY, VERY likely to be misinterpreted (even by people whose native tongue IS English I suspect) and therefore poorly chosen.
Is it normal I think Jesus is extremely overrated?

"I think Jesus probably was a good person back in time"
Well, I don't and I don't see why you do, because - as I've demonstrated - he also said some REALLY fucked up shit.
"I can understand why you like him"
Fuck, did you even READ my post? I DON'T like him!

Your post is too long and boring to read. Half the shit is down to interpretation anyway, like the "mutilation" one.

If you don't care what people think about your post, why post it here where people will comment on it?
Also, they're called fundamentalist or literalist Christians. Not all think that way.

I may know it better now, but you could've been clearer nonetheless.
