Is it normal i think i can read minds?

MMkay, here goes.

So, I think I can read minds or something.
I promise I'm not crazy, and I'm not a troll.
It happens especially with people I am close to, but sometimes with people I don't really know..
I get kind of like a "feeling" of what they are thinking.
It's not like an image in my head of like I can hear their thought, I just get this feeling. Almost like intuition, but much stronger.

Here are some examples:

One time, I was in the room with a married couple, and they were fighting, and suddenly I just "felt" that the guy was going to hit the girl. They calmed down, and he ended up admitting that he had really wanted to hit her.

I was talking to my guy friend, and his phone went off from a text. Without even thinking I blurted out "Is it Brianna?"
He gave me the WEIRDEST look and said "Uh, yeah... How did you know?" I guess that could have been because I saw them talking online a few days ago, and he was annoyed with her, and when he saw the text he kind of made a sighing sound. Maybe my brain subconsciously put it together?

When I play the "guessing game" with my family, I excel!
One time I was playing it with my sister, and I don't know her terribly well. She asked questions like "What's my favorite color?" (I had no idea about any of the questions, like I said we aren't so close) And I would just think about it, and "feel" something, and say it. And I'd be right!

When stuff like that happens, people are like "Can you rad minds?" And I'm just like "Uhhhh, no?"

I can often feel what my friend are thinking, if they are focusing on a certain person, or really horny (that is awkward, believe me haha) or something like that.

Also, it's happened a couple times were I've had a pretend conversation in my head with one of my friends, and like the next day the exact same conversation takes place...

Sometimes it comes in super clear, and freaks me out, other times it's muddled and could just be good guess work/sensitivity to body language.

Does anybody have any ideas about this???

You just seem to be very subconsciously observant. It's a very good trait to have.

    • No. Like I said, it's mostly with people I know. And I don't "see" anything, I "feel" some things, some times.

        • I don' care if you don't believe me, as you obviously don't care about helping me.

This happens to me too. I don't think we're able to read minds, though. I believe it's only very high intuition or something else related to that.

I think you have a high level of consciousness. I was going to write my own IIN post about this subject, then the website suggested your post.

I'm the same in a way. And I know how you must be feeling. I have around the same "gift" you have. I can read people auras. And I can also make someone super far away from me feel me. This example: My boyfriend is 2 states away and I can concentrate and kinda have an "out of body experience" I guess you can say. He said one day without knowing what I was doing that he felt as if someone squeezing him. In my head I imagined me hugging him tight. I told him and he thinks it's the coolest thing. I can also heal people. But the drag on that is when I heal someone, I get part of the illness they had or whatever... But I don't like telling people because they think I'm crazy. I'm not.

You probably have very good (maybe even extra developed) sensory skills. Who knows.

Hmmm I think ..some times it would be possible ... When u r closely live with people ... Many times ... My mind say he will do this ...and after while he does exactly what I was thinking ... Main reason according to my point of view ..cause of too close with that person we understand his nature, his way of doing work etc

  • "I promise I'm not crazy"

Exactly what a crazy person would say.

"One time, I was in the room with a married couple, and they were fighting, and suddenly I just "felt" that the guy was going to hit the girl. They calmed down, and he ended up admitting that he had really wanted to hit her."

That's called situational awareness, and it is far from mind reading.

"When I play the "guessing game" with my family, I excel!
One time I was playing it with my sister, and I don't know her terribly well. She asked questions like "What's my favorite color?" (I had no idea about any of the questions, like I said we aren't so close) And I would just think about it, and "feel" something, and say it. And I'd be right!"

This is a combo of educated guesswork and luck, everyone does this at many points in their lives. Shit, I do it everyday.

"I can often feel what my friend are thinking, if they are focusing on a certain person, or really horny (that is awkward, believe me haha) or something like that."

Because you know them, their looks and movements during moods. Everyone can do this.

    I promise you, you're crazy.

Given that we don't fully understand how the mind works, nobody can truly say that telepathy doesn't exist. I've had situations where my friends and I both decided to do something odd at exactly the same time. However, the way I explain it is that we have many shared memories and so the memories and the current stimulus (also shared) made us act the same way.

Also, we pick up clues about the world without even realising it or analysing them. Moreso in terms if communication/empathy if you are female, which I'm guessing you are. In fact, there's one of those things. You didn't say anywhere in your post that you are female. If a computer read your post, it wouldn't know you were female. But me, as a human detected things that led me to that conclusion (even if I wrong). Perhaps you just have a keener sense of this, as you yourself said might be the case.

I think the more time you spend with someone, the closer your actions and thoughts become subconsciously. My best friend and I say things at the same time, and even suggest the same activity without any previous suggestion of our thoughts. Though, I do happen to be a very observant person with a tendency to choose something I know whomever I am with will prefer in order to make them comfortable. Whether it's just suggesting something they'd like to do, or saying something they might say, or taking it upon myself to retrieve something they would like. So I guess I may just have disproved my first theory.. Haha.

That's kind of how I see it too. For a few years, I worked with two of my best friends (one of them got me the job) and I spent more time with one of them than I've ever spent with a girlfriend. We were in contact fourteen hours a day, five days a week, then sometimes at weekends too. We both kind of morphed into a gestalt version of each of us!

It's always nice to find someone you like being around enough to get that kind of connection. 14 hours a day seems like an eternity to spend with someone! I've spent somewhere around 36ish hours nonstop with my best friend earlier this week.

Weird thing is that we started looking like each other and people kept asking if we were brothers.

            You're up late again. :P

Looking like each other? Now I've never heard of that!

I've been on an unusual sleep schedule lately. Plus my dad broke his leg and is in the hospital overnight awaiting surgery tomorrow. My mom is drunk and lonely so I'm keeping her entertained a bit. Haha.
