Is it normal i think gender identity disorder isn't handled correctly?
Curing a man who thinks he's a woman by giving him breast implants is like curing a schizophrenic who thinks he's Napoleon by giving him a sword. Even if you don't like it, you can't be something you're not. You can't turn yourself into a snake by cutting off your arms and legs. Many people who have gotten a sex change even keep their original genitals, meaning they won't even fully embrace the cause they claim to support. Why are there people who say they're women when they won't make themselves more like one, even when they have the option? Also, why was the concept of GID completely unheard of before the 20th century? Think about it. For a long time, people have been mutilating their bodies because of how it looks. Looking like the opposite sex is simply the newest fad in body modification. We've had foot binding, tongue splitting, eyeball tattooing, subdermal implants, and so on and so forth so sex changes are just another one of those crazy things people do to get attention and be different. Yes, teens have killed themselves over it. But don't forget about the teen who killed himself over losing his iPod, or all the kids who have slit their wrists over relationships or because their parents wouldn't let them go out. Just because they commit suicide over it doesn't mean it was a good reason or that it wouldn't have gone away with or without help. People with GID should be treated with medication and therapy like any other mental disorder. The GID fad will die out like female hysteria, and sex changes will go the way of blood-letting.
