Is it normal i simply do not miss people(maybe unless theyre dead)

I often get asked by loved ones if I missed them while being away on travel. I both like them and care about them. I care about both humans and animals in general, if I see someone suffering I can feel sympathy. But the feeling of missing someone simply because they weren't there for a few weeks (or really regardless of time) just never occurred to me. Do other people actually feel it even when they know they will meet that person again? Or is it something people just say out of politeness?

Whether, or not you mess a person, or animal probably depends on who exactly that person, or animal is to you. We don't automatically miss everyone we don't see when we stop seeing them. I don't think it's normal to never miss anyone.

I honestly hate it when people ask me point blank, "did you miss me", it's so needy, and entitled.
