Is it normal i really miss my favorite teacher and really want to see her

I had my favorite teacher last year and I miss her so much! I am always thinking of her and I look up to her and she is almost like family to me. I used to always eat lunch with her. I wish I could do something or hang out. Is this normal?

Well, as it is so recent, there isn't much reason you couldn't hang out or at least stay in contact. I do not think she would mind.

Just don't be like I am about things -

When I was in 5th grade, way back in 1985/86, there was this teacher's assistant whom I had a mad crush on. First woman I ever felt "in love" with. She was like 41 at the time so today probably 74 now but I still miss her. I tried to contact her a few years ago, wrote her this letter with my phone number and she called but I was too chicken to pick up. At this point I think, "I need to try again before she passes away."

I don't know, things can be hard.

Yo if shes 74 shes way out of her prime and she's probably cant wait to get beaten up by a youngbuck. Punch that bitch in the mouth!

Yeah I am sure that is EXACTLY what she wants.

Why did you chicken out? Were you worried she wouldn't live up to the memory?

You should definitely call her back. That's one of those things that you regret forever.

Well, I do know I would regret if I didn't even try again. It was a few years ago I tried to get ahold of her.

Not even sure why I was afraid to answer. When I was a kid I had no qualms about talking to her every chance I got. I am not sure where the worry is rooted.

I miss my old History teacher and my old Maths teacher. Both of them were really quirky and organised and themselves, which was quite nice to see.

Female teachers used to love me for some reason (not in a sexual way) they always seemed to get like emotionally attached to me or something. I got excluded from normal classes in high school and my science teacher basically told the principal etc to fuck off and she would come and find me if I didnt turn up to science lol. Also a primary school teacher used to put me on her lap and cuddle me n stuff when I was like 8. This was only the early 2000s as well.

Yes, completely normal! I'm still friends with my favorite teacher from high school and we still go to lunch. She was always like a second mother to me.

If you haven't graduated yet, there might be a certain policy at the school that teachers might not be able to hang out with students outside of school, I'm not sure, but otherwise I don't think there would be anything wrong with asking if she'd like to have lunch!

Yeah I guess. I never really talked to anyone in school including the teachers so i've never felt a bond like that but I know many classmates of mine added some teachers to FB for some reason and follow them on instagram. Never understood that but apparently it's common. I guess they stay in touch a bit too, commenting on each others posts at least.

I had two teachers that I legit hated more than anyone. One was a woman in elementary that would degrade me. She wouldnt let me use the bathroom until I almost pissed myself. This is back when you got spankings in school and she'd always get me paddled by the principle. I saw her again when I was 17 working at walgreens and I wanted to cuss her out but I had a job. Some people shouldnt be allowed to be teachers man. I didnt know how to verbalize to my parents how cruel she was and she took advantage of that. I wish to god I brought a tape recorder. Then stick her ass on youtube with a picture of her face

Assuming you started school in the mid 90's, I thought by then that teachers were not allowed to be assholes like degrading or paddling?

When I was 18 I had a really great history teacher. My school was shitty but she was really passionate and brought the subject to life. She was too good for that place. It was her first year of teaching so she wasn't that much older than me. I kept in touch with her and even went for a drink with her about a year later. It was great.

We only lost touch because I emigrated, but if I bumped into her again today I'm sure she'd be happy to see me.

In today's modern world you don't even need to ask for her phone number. You can just look her up on some sort of social media thing and ask her how she is. I bet she'd love to hear from you.
