Same here. Shyness seems to be a chronic condition for me. In college, I got over it for a while and learned to socialize with people comfortably, but then I regressed and became even shyer than I was before. I don't try to start conversations with people, because I assume they don't want to talk to me anyway. It sounds as if you also lack confidence in yourself. Unfortunately, I have no advice to offer because all the typical confidence-building exercises have not worked for me. Maybe confidence is something you have to be born with, I don't know. But at least we can know that we are not alone in our shyness.
Is it normal I'm too shy to talk to anyone?
