Is it normal I'm attracted to men, but I don't want to have sex? Ever.

  • It could be a phase, or it could truly be how you look at it. The fact that you're still wondering if it's normal says you haven't completely given up and made a complete decision yet. Have you had these views forever. Do you see sex a certain way and only specifically that way? Sometimes people see it in one light, so it's a lot more difficult to accept. An example would be only seeing sex as violent and hard so someone might fear this because they don't want to go down that road. I agree with the second comment posted by "disthing", you might want to try doing it more gently. Also, don't ever look at it as a requirement. I know a few people that hadn't had sex AT all until their early thirties and late twenties. Not everyone moves at the same pace in all levels of life. Listen to your mind and your heart. If it's ever the right time, you'll know. Until then, do research, write down your feelings and try to find the basis for which these feelings are coming from in the first place.

    • Yes. It has always been like this. I feel stupid when I have sex because sometimes the guys work so hard :( and if they can tell I'm faking that makes them feel bad. I don't fear sex it just doesn't seem like something that should be happening. Now that I'm married it's the SAME thing. Sex kind of is a requirement for me... I don't think my husband would be around very long if he knew...

      • then at this point, perhaps you should consider seeing a sex therapist; or a therapist in general. It might just be something that's happened early in your life that you may not remember or just some specific feeling locked deep down inside waiting to be found. If you hide it, it's inevitably going to get worse and the answer will only become more difficult with time.
