Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. In no way shape or form should you ever feel ashamed of your personal opinion just because someone doesn't agree with it. That is the thing about opinions though, people tend to think theirs is right. I try to be as non-judgmental and accepting of others opinions even if they differ from my own.
I think you should do your own research into it and come to your own conclusion. Asking someone else is only going to get you their two cents and a biased one at that.
