Is it normal i'm annoyed by 90% of gen z supporting illegal

Immigration? Those 25 and under mostly all support illegal immigration and it annoys me.

I'll see videos or posts of people saying they need to have open borders and let whoever wants to come in from any country should be able to just walk or fly in not understanding why every country does not allow this. Their ignorance scares me and annoys me to no end and if you say you don't support illegal immigration they call you racist when it has nothing to do with race.

Is it normal I get annoyed?

Funny how no other country allows illegals in like the US but we’re still expected to do more…

I love how the democrats said they’d welcome everyone, then got elected and said “don’t come”. lol.

    • Exactly this, it's odd how it's not legal or even encouraged anywhere else but in the US we're supposed to take in anyone.

Thats because no one wants to escape their shithole into another shithole. The US is far from perfect, but if it was as bad as some claim it to be, people wouldnt be emigrating as much as they do.

I have no clue which group of people under age 25 you are talking about.

I know a bunch of them and I'm not sure there is a single one that encourages illegal immigration.

They do however support the "dreamers" which are children that were brougham into this country illegally and who have grown up in this country. The younger generation supports a legal immigration path for the "dreamers" to become US Citizens. So do a lot of people over 25.

They also support a realistic "political refugee" status for those fleeing likely if not certain death because their family was on the wrong side of a political dispute. Again, so do a lot of adults.

Note that about 30 years ago I personally knew a young lady who was claiming political refugee status and had entered the USA illegally. She literally figured that she would be dead within a few hours if she was forced to return to her home country.

Her father had been a political opponent of the current Leader of that country; and she was not aware of any immediate family members alive in her home country as they had been rounded up one day and executed: men, woman, and all children while she was visiting a friend in the next town. Somehow she managed to get out of the country alive and it just so happened that either the airplane or ship was headed to the USA. It still took her something like 6 years of legal and court hearings to get her refugee status approved.

So I think you are misinterpreting some data - or have not actually researched this yourself with people under the age 25.

If you go on politics discord voice chats you'll come across a lot of them. They advocate for open borders and their reasoning is that Europeans came here illegally and since it's stolen land white people have no say in who comes in. A big catch phrase they use is "no one is illegal on stolen land".

Discord politics is mostly younger generation. Normally its 35 and under. I think you get so many of them mostly because its a younger crowd on there. A lot of university kids are on there. The vast majority of the university crowd on there is far left.

I think this is a case of a very vocal minority. Social media is flooded with people in far-left/far-right mindsets. They just happen to be the loudest virtual voices.

I agree. The people I meet in person have not had these views. See my post above.

I live in the US close to the Mexican border. A lot of my closest friends are Hispanic, so this topic is kinda a biggie for me. Basically though, I think that we just need a better "filtering system". I don't blame people for wanting to cross the border into the US at all! Most of them really truly are just people who are trying to find better lives for themselves and their families. Unfortunately there are some "bad eggs" amongst the bunch. There ALWAYS is, it's just how the human race works.

With that being said, I definitely don't have all the answers to what the solution to this problem in my neck of the woods might be; I just know that it is absolutely absurd for families in Mexico to wait around for YEARS trying to come here. There's a lot of places in Mexico that are pretty damn messed up, to say the least. I've been to Mexicali only, personally. It's...different than the USA, to say the very least. It makes me feel thankful to be born here. But yeah, Mexico has a lot of great things going for it too, so please don't get me wrong. I just think it should be MUCH easier to move here for the majority of immigrants. Most people aren't bad, you know...there's definitely bad eggs, we just need to get better at finding them. /end rant

The biggest proponents of illegal immigration are the rich, and business owners, who exploit the labor. They want you riled up at the imaginary/ powerless "far-left-liberal" so you don't notice what they (the elite) are doing. It's one of the oldest tricks in the book, and you're falling for it.

There’s a lot of truth to this, sadly. I’ve seen it happen and heard stories from immigrants, it’s pretty fucked up. It’s awful to exploit somebody just because of their circumstances.

It is normal to be annoyed by it but I think that no immigration should be illegal because no immigration should exist because borders should be abolished, but whatever lol

I challenge you to give us a link to the results of an opinion survey carried out by a reputable polling organisation which supports your assertions.

Until you can do that, your OP is merely strawman bullshit. It has as much validity as someone on the political left asserting that 90% of Trumpists want to reimpose slavery and see a fascist dictatorship in the USA.

Idk about 90% but you can Google "no one is illegal on stolen land" you'll find a lot of arguments on reddit about open borders from far left liberals.

Or you could go on any politics discord sever and talk to the university students. It's actually a serious opinion by a lot of young people.

Open borders is hardly a far left view compared to things youve argued on here for like hormones for elementary students. open borders isnt even that far left. Dont see why open borders is so surprising. I dont see why you and Boojum seem surprised by it when the same people you align with support 5 year olds on hormones for a sex change.

I do not in general support hormenes for the very young except for very rare medical disorders.

I believe that you will find that if you go back and read my posts on that subject I argue that in certain cases its appropriate for teenagers; and subject to medical review.

Nor would I ever support transitioning to pure open borders. I would argue for increased targeted immigration in certain cases.

Look up the “Adam Ruins Everything” video about illegal immigration. It really could open your eyes to how financially/ethically unwise banning “illegal” immigrants is.
