Personally, I dig both curly hair, and the brown hair/brown eye combo in girls. Also depending on the girl, braces can sometimes be completely okay, if not even cute! Don't be so hard on yourself hun. And I know its a hard step to risk the friendship but I too have ruined opportunities in the past by not going for it.
