  • ^ Well I like the word 'mellifluous.' But I must say, I feel rather inferior to everyone else in this post, because you all know so many.

I like: interpolate, covenant, whimsical, dolorous, assemblage, conflate, epiphany, lilt, petrichor, serendipity, solace, innocuous, winsome, disheveled, chimerical, raconteur, and celerity!

    • Now don't be silly! You fit beautifully in this post. ;)

Mellifluous is one of the most interesting to me... As a child, when I first encountered the word, I attributed a meaning to it that couldn't be further from the sweetness of a sound. It meant "evil slanted look". It still does. I'm scared, for you're diabolically mellifluous!

      • Mmm, diabolical indeed! Something about that word has a pleasantly cataclysmic ring to it, which is always rendered unnoticed until the moment I encounter the word. It just comes off as something so unstable and dangerous, you can't help but appreciate it. :)
