  • You have inspired me to list every single word I love, albeit several of them are in a different language. Before you interpret my attempt to list all my favourite words, you should know that I have chromagraphemia (a word unknown to several dictionaries), in addition to several other types of synaesthesia. Therefore, some of these words will be based upon colour.

    1. Words that are phonetically appealing: Insomnia, subito (Latin), opaque, muse, rustle, deranged, moon, lunar, mind, reward, complacency, dread, manet (Latin), iimus (Latin), rogat (Latin), arbore (Latin), paulisper (Latin), nondum (Latin), cauponam (Latin), voluit/noluit (Latin), sedimus (Latin), stare, stare (Latin), mashite (Japanese), gozaimasu (Japanese), dou (Japanese), excitare (Latin), scio/nescio (Latin), mox (Latin), rain, benvenuti (Italian), di (Italian), surreal, sorrow, ira (Latin), Cnidaria, and sovereign, just to name a few.

    2. Words that are synaesthetically appealing: Insomnia, pure, Zen, engorged, mud, ostentatious, mange, wrangle, suffocate, urine, dread, treasure, nomen/nomine (Latin), manet (Latin), domo (Japanese), arigatou (Japanese), Aoi (Japanese), drug, deranged, muster, read, owning, heart, sovereign, organ, rogat (Latin), Missouri, Delaware, quaint, forgotten, June, uxoris (Latin), mind, meningitis, diarrhoea, intimate, intrigue, fatigue, quest, hunger, fizz, fuzz, sister, nougat, nature, for, soar, frequent, understand, estimate, domum (Latin), dormire (Latin), fungus, gleam, soft, foreign, death, sorrow, ira (Latin), mox (Latin), iimus (Latin), fragrant, favour, trusting, itinere (Latin), animo (Latin), quiet, mesmerize/mesmerism, unam (Latin), duam (Latin), tres (Latin), quinque (Latin), desu (Japanese), amigo (Spanish), amo (Latin), zone, anguish, door, foresight, dissent, demand, rushed, hazard, marmoset, faerie, termite, finger, adjourned, rough, trough, thorough, Russia, German, moose, nothing, rusted, rotten, roots, heritage, orate, stream, faculty, the list could go on.

There are definitely more, but I just can't list every word I like. I'll be here all day if I do. Even so, I'd clicked the wrong option and said I only had a few favourites - Sorry about that. I never realized how much I truly loved words until now... Also, the word "pheromone" strikes me nicely for some reason. OH! And fancier words are always fun, like incendiary and provenance. :)

    • Well, I hope you had fun replying. I was definitely surprised and very entertained by your list. Many beautiful words on it. I'm curious to know why you know so many Latin words. No one knows Latin anymore. Disce Aut Discede. Haha

      • Latine dicere possum quod languam amo discere. Plus, it's useful to learn for scientific work. Latin is the second language I've ever truly studied, and now I'm in love with it. Yes, "Learn it or go away!" :)
