Is it normal i like to watch tv with subtitles?

Yeah i do this all the time only becasue my wife is a chatterbox so if i can't hear it at least i can read it.

I like subtitles. I've learn English by reading subtitles.

Me too. Usually only with films, though, because the subtitles for tv shows are usually pretty bad and are 10 seconds behind the show (assuming there even is any). I like having something there to read as well.

I do this because I have a hard time understanding people.

I do it for videogames, cause without them, I miss a lot of dialogue. It's hard to follow what they say sometimes, especially in rather fast paced games.

My woman does it, and it drives me mad. I can't stop reading them, and it really annoys when they differ from the actual dialogue. Even worse during live TV when it lags behind and is wrong all the time.

All you people ABOVE need to start watching INFOMERCIALS instead.

I used to only watch TV shows or movies with subtitles with my mum because she is hearing impaired. I would find them distracting, but now I actually prefer having the subtitles up.

I have lost my remote control and the dvd plays almost all the films with subtitles.

My mom is like this. I don't understand this, but I do think it's normal. Some people like to read what they're reading. Perhaps to have a better understanding.
