Is it normal i like to smell book pages?

I have this interesting habit of when getting a book whether its old or brand new I smell the book pages. I flick the pages from right to left i sniff the print. I can tell definite new print from old print. Curios does anyone else sniff books?

  • Mmmm.. I love the smell of pages in a book. I also like the old-timely clear cellophane covers they would put on the books. I loved how they crackled when you'd open them. Reminds me of being a kid checking out library books. It's soothing..

  • Yes, especially library books.

  • How's that possible?

  • Sadly, books are slowly being phased out. Kindle's scientists are working on preserving the "new book smell". So, yes, there will be an app for that.

  • bibles always smell the most interesting to me. One time, one smelled exactly like tea, and I sniffed the page every few seconds while reading. ( I guess the rumors are right about Christians being crazy).

    • Bibles would be awesome if you can smell key elements of each story. Like when the 3 wise men came to the baby Jesus and you smell the page and it smells like their gifts. Or if you smell Exodus and it smells like stonings, blood and rotting corpses.

  • Books. Pokemon cards. It's like huffing paint for kids.
