You talk about people being responsible for their own feelings, but you are responsible for your own actions. If all you care to put into the world is cruelty, then that is on you.
I won't try to change your mind, that seems to be a fruitless cause. What I will say to those others reading is that everyone experiences pain, loss and struggle in their lives. If they haven't, they are either young or have been incredibly fortunate thus far.
Empathy is not always easy. But it is always worth it. There is enough darkness in the world already. Wouldn't it be better to plant a few torches to light the path while you're here?
