Is it normal i like my boyfriend when he is sweaty?

My boyfriend does boxing and after his daily workouts we both go out to eat. But I love seeing him all sweaty and smelling him. He puts on axe in the locker rooms so it's not just his smell, but I still love it. Is it just me that likes a smelly sweaty man?

I am a human sexuality educator.

You know how all people see colors differently? Or how everyone has different tastes buds? Well everyone also has a different sense of smell.

Some enjoy the "natural" scents of the human body. This doesn't have to include EVERY bodily scent (though sometimes, it can) but many people do enjoy the pheromones given off by body sweat, even when it isn't masked by cologne or deodorant.

In my line of work, I've met many people of all sexual identities that are aroused by sniffing dirty socks or underwear. All judgments aside, what they are really getting aroused by is the pheromones inside of the stench that has been left onto someone's clothing.

We usually hear about pheromones when people talk about women getting on the same period cycle. If the same group of women are together for long periods of time, they may start to all get on similar cycles. But pheromones are the bodily scent we give off that aid in people finding us attractive. Someone who is emotionally confident will give off more pheromones. Which is why even though deodorants, colognes, and perfumes mask our pheromones, it ironically can make us feel more confident, and help us produce more pheromones- which may counteract the masking.

But regardless, sense of smell is different, and the smells that spark our brain cells to cause arousal will be very different.

Finally someone that agrees with my pheromone theories. Oh...wait...it isn't theory. Although I'm sure we don't agree on other similar topics (I take a more...Fruedian approach on sexuality and children for example.)It is nice to see someone with education back up what You've said in the past, so for that I thank you.

TBH, I think all this talk of pheromones is a bunch of bunk. They use magic crap like that to scam people into buying love potions and such.

Yes, I should have mentioned, there are many products that advertise they use pheromones. This is not true.

What the product does is boost your confidence, and that causes you to produce more pheromones naturally.

Pheromones are quite real, but the media has twisted how they work by making people think pheromones are something tangible that can be put inside of a product.

I go absolutely nuts when my wife hasn't showered for a day or two. I love her natural fragrances. The rare times that she does that, it's "mating season" for sure!

I think it's normal, for I feel exactly the same. There's a short story by Portuguese writer Eça de Queirós, "The Perfection" (A Perfeição) which deals which an episode in Homer, when Odysseus is on the island of Ogygia as lover of the goddess Calypso. When the gods order that she releases Odysseus so he can sail to home, to his wife and son, he has to build his ship, and while he's working with tools, axes, ropes etc. the author comments that "Never had Odysseus seemed so handsome to the goddess as then". Homer himself has King Alcinous saying, about sports, that "there's no greater glory in the life of a man than the deeds he performs with his hands and feet". I think there's a thing about the physical work, about sports, dance, nautical and outdoor life, and handicraft, which is both erotical and dignified, esthetic, an expression of freedom.
(Our ability to feel pheromones, if there is any, is very small as long as I know, so I would not accpet such theory without more research on biology. But maybe that's part of the explanation, I keep my mind open.)

You're not alone. To be honest, I find that smell (and "bad" smells in general(it's weird that I like smells like that I know)) a bit of a turn-on for me.

I sweat a lot and I'm a girl. I put on deodorant like 3 times a day, but it isn't enough. I hate it and I wear perfume, but it goes through my clothes. MY BODY WILL BE THE DEATH OF ME!

Perfume only makes it worse. Try an antiperspirant.

They already did tons of studies on this. Though most body odor from sweat repels women, depending on the woman and man, there are pheremones released in the sweat that will actually be attractive to the woman.

(Especially male) sweat contains pheromones that can cause sexual attraction. So yeah, it's perfectly normal.

Deodorants and perfumes are mostly crap. Natural smell is the best one.

It's normal for me. My parents said they were always checking my diaper half the time it was empty. I'm just very flatulent

Bad nutrition, probably. You are not "just very flatulent" out of no reason.

Because I don't think the sweaty man wants a sweaty girl.. I know perfume scents excite my guy. But then I like when he's got cologne on too... the only time I want him sweaty is when we start getting hot, begin to have fun and you know! ;P
