Is it normal i like it when babies cry over little things?

Ever since I had my daughter I love it when she cries. Not for anything serious. Just when she gets scared of nothing or falls down. I think she is so cute and adorable when she's crying. I don't make her cry but I find myself hoping she'll bonk herself in the head with a toy. She's just sooo cute!!! Other babies too.

  • Whenever a kid cries for any reason that indicates their distress, my ovaries tie into a knot and I get the immediate urge to run to their aid.

Just today, I was at college and I saw a kid with his Dad walking together to their car and the kid kept saying that he was thirsty (a two year old little toddler boy) and his Dad said "Wait until we get home". Just the complaining was enough to compel me to want to grab my water bottle from my book-bag and give him a drink but that's not my kid.

I don't know how you do it, but I envy you. Kids crying or being distressed provokes me to want to take action more than it amuses or charms me.

  • It can be cute but I can't say it's something I hope for...I like the tickle-induced laughs better. But then the kids I got right now do fucking banshee screams...

  • I can understand this to a point. I hate it when my son cries but there are times we had just laugh over it, like when my sister-in-law (who lives with us) had her boyfriend over and my son (11 months) did nothing but cry when her boyfriend looked at him or talked to him. After about 20 mins he was fine its was just funny at first. Also when he falls on his butt while walking he makes this face like hes confused and then he will cry a lil that's cute.

  • I know what you mean. I find it entertaining too especially since I can relate to them. I cry over little things that are stressful to me, like too much homework that I don't feel like I can get done in one day that I easily end up getting done in a couple hours after I stop freaking out. I think its funny when my nine year old stepbrother cries over little things, like once he cried because he couldn't do a bellyflop.

  • This disturbs me, because if you are at a store, I bet you are that "parent" that lets their kid throw a tantrum and scream and carry on, and disrupt everyone else who are trying to get in and get out of the store.

    • OP said, "cry over little things" like bops to the noggin or being scared by a sneeze, for example. NOT tantrums and screaming.

      Troll is Fail.

      • What I mean is, if she finds it "cute" when the kid starts crying by means of a bump on the head or something, I bet my bottom dollar she finds it "cute" when the kid starts crying in the middle of a store.
Not being a troll. Just, being a citizen who doesn't enjoy hearing about unconcerned parents.

        • She IS a concerned parent... >_<

Gosh, I'm not having this circular argument... just go RE-read the OP.
