I'm a guy and I sometimes grow out my fingernails too (not because I want long fingernails but because usually I'm lazy and don't want to cut them). It has happened before that a guy saw my nails and asked me if I was gay. Anyway I don't think long fingernails should be exclusive to women, as men can also get long nails if they forget to cut them. This might seem weird but long fingernails do come in handy especially when you're opening a package or picking your nose.
Is it normal I like having long finger nails?
