I just want to know what it's like. I mean, it would be an interesting experience.

I'm not the OP but that actually sounds like a sweet van and a nice thing to do for the day. Chill out by the river with friends and perhaps sleep in the van.
Idk why but when I was little and my parents asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up and I replied a hobo.
No i don't. I'd miss my tech too much.

I can see where you're coming from. However, you sound more like a mountain man to me. Running off into the woods and surviving on that lifestyle alone. Personally, being homeless in the city isn't a perspective I want to see, but I would like to be a woman for a month just to see what it's like. Anyways, I recall seeing a post similar to this, at least I think I do, so I'd say it's a somewhat common desire. But I think in general it is normal to want to see the world from a different perspective.
I have an interesting idea that you might like to try. You could call it the prince and the pippa experiment. Find an actual homeless person. Most likely would prefer one who is not mentally unstable or anything. Switch with him. Say "Hello I would like to be homeless" and in exchange you could live in my house for x amount of days. Say this person is free to use whatever resources are at your home for the time being while you are being homeless. After said amount of days see if the homeless person did anything to better himself and see how he is getting along at your home. It will mutually benefit you both and you will see what it is like to be homeless. Sounds interesting doesn't it? You could after submit your studies and benefit mankind in scientific discovery.
