Hard to answer without knowing what sort of things you usually say.

If you are trolling or have an incredebly narrow world view, assuming you are a child would be the optimistic thing to do: "Oh, I guess he'll learn when he grows up."
Because an ignorant child is just a child. An ignorant grown up is depressing.

It could also be the case that you are very naive and idealistic. In which case you'd simply be adorable and hopefully never have to change.

Lastly there's the phenomenon of actual children who call others "kid" online in order to distract from their own age. It's the equivalent of bad gamers calling everyone else a "noob".
