Is it normal i keep ditching my roommate

My roommate is also my best friend. I however keep ditching her. Often when she loses something she will start panicking and demand I help them find it. Sometimes they start following me around until I help. I end up leaving and going somewhere else and come back like an hour later to see if they found it.

Is It Normal?

        It means you only want to be there for someone when things are going well. When someone has hit a rough patch a fair weather friend disappears. A fair weather friend doesn't want to be there for a person in a time of crisis.
