Sure, I have that as well but of course it's not healthy. You should rather buy some melatonin pills (OTC sleeping pills.)

I also used to be able to sleep quiet normally, But after i quit smoking Weed i started to get insomnia. After a while your body will get used to it and eventually go back to the same sleep pattern as before. It took me 2 goes to stop smoking so i could sleep normally and told my self each night in my head "Sleep" i said it over and over untill it started to work and i eventually just forgot to do that and just closed my eyes and went to sleep.
