Is it normal I hate those cop-out middle names?

  • I was given an American middle name despite not being American. I hated it at first but now I'm quite pleased with it. It's the only part of my name that is in any way fashionable.

      • Nah, it's weirder than that. I couldn't name anyone in the public eye who has it for a forename, although there are a few prominent English people (all dead) who have had it. :)

          • It's weird how close you people are getting (you especially in ways I shall never disclose). I'm honestly not going to admit it, though. :P Not in public, anyway.

          • My name is nothing like that, yet - at the same time - you're thinking along the right lines.

              • There was once a squirrel that kept stealing the nuts I put out for birds. He was a Cyril.

                Cyril the squirrel.

But no, he wasn't named after me. :P

      • Well, I would, but it's not a name like John or Fred. It's more uncommon and more like identifying information. I might be the only person on the planet with these two first names, and I do like to present my stalkers with a challenge. That way, only the cleverest get through. Although the downside of that is the cleverest get through. :/

          • Ick, no. That sounds like an old English name to me. It's nothing like that. No Timothy, Roger, Tristan, Hereward, or anything like that. :P

              • Ahh, so close. Actually, you almost were close. My mum was going to call be Rebecca if I was a girl and when I turned out to have a dangling wilbury, she pondered whether she could still get away with a girl's name.

          • I don't know about the secret bit but I'd happily record myself peeing and put it on YouTube. I'd be amazed if anyone actually listened to it, though. I mean, it's going to sound exactly like everyone expects. :P
