I do believe the "fear" of homophobia is from the fear of catching homosexuality. It is apparently extremely contagious and no straight person would want to be around a gay person, for that reason.
I just don't understand why it's not possible for a straight guy to catch lesbianism, only male homosexuality, and vise versa. Is this the only disease that isn't cross gender contagious?
