    For having many gay friends I can say that most of them think that all men are potential gays and they just need some cheering up to cross the boundary.

      To be fair, that's also how many straight people think of and treat gay people. "How do you KNOW you're gay?" "You just haven't met the right girl/guy yet." "How do you know you don't like sex with women/men if you've never tried it?" etc
