The more people there is the easier it is for everyone and the quicker it goes. I had 20 people help move me once (long weird story) and it was done in an hour, if I'd done it myself or with another person, it would have taken the day.
It's not a pleasant chore for anyone, but having the help of friends makes it a lot easier. And you can make it enjoyable for them too by doing a BBQ or having a flat of beer ready at the end of it.
But, if you're the type that doesn't like to help then it would seem normal that you don't ask others for help. You're normal.
