That's understandable. I can relate to needing to think about a problem on your own. It sounds like your mother is the kind of person who needs to talk about her problems, so she assumes other people feel the same. Have you tried being honest with her and saying, "I've been feeling down about situation X lately, but I've thought it over and I know how I will handle it"? She may react better than you expect. She may be proud of you for exercising independent thought and initiative to solve your problems.
