You said the only reason people do not eat each other is not a moral decisions but a practical one. So if it was more practical we would eat other humans. So how about animals? Do you think it is so much more practical to eat animals? No not really for the fact most of these animals are so difficult to kill. The simplest thing to kill I think would have to be a rabbit. So why do you think people eat meat? If it really is so much work why do you think we go through the hassle to kill them? Maybe the reason we eat animals is very simple. We need meat, bird, pork or fish in out diet. Why would people do this if it was so unnecessary?
I do not view 'moral reasons' to be proper reasons at all, they just have no validity of their own. What I do is I look at general morals and try to analyze for myself why they are in place, in which situations they should be applicable in my opinion and where they are quite silly and go from there. The reason I do this is to filter out all the stupid emotional and religious morals, which often have no rational basis.
The practical reason why eating people is considered "immoral" is for the various detrimental effects it would have on society.
These effects would not be evident in an apocalyptic scenario with no sources of food, as such the morals disappear. And that is what I was referring to... please learn to read.
Morals are subjective and subject to change. If you do not understand that, please do not go on about morals.
It is more practical to eat animals than humans... for many, many reasons.
I never said that it was unnecessary to eat meat... I am an avid meat-eater myself. It may not be necessary anymore but it certainly used to be as little as 30 years ago and still is for children. As such we have to the trouble of acquiring meat.
An interesting question IMO is: What makes eating humans so bad in your opinion? Supposing they died of some cause not of your doing and you needed food quite badly. Dead meat is dead meat, the genetic make-up of the stuff shouldn't really matter.
Is it normal I found a flaw with being vegetarian?
