Is it normal i find old beds to be disgusting?

I see an old bed and I literally shudder. I'm not talking about an old, unused guest bedroom. I mean, old historical beds. I recently went on a chateau tour in France and I saw A LOT of beds and just imagined how many people were born and died under those covers. I then imagined if I had to sleep in one of those beds and I almost threw up.

I like the aesthetic appeal of old furniture but the idea of old beds and comforters is nauseating. Is this normal?

        Don't worry, they are sterilized and the bedding is bleached.

    Just imagine.. how many loads have been spilled there. Especially in france.. omg, u could probably take a forensic team that gets trace evidence and find sperm dna from literally hundreds of loads that have flown in every direction in that chateau..

    I don't like sleeping in the old bed in my grandmothers house because it's often infested with bugs :-S Earwigs, apparently.

    I get what you're saying about old beds, though. If I thought about that long enough, I think I'd feel sick, too :(

    A man died on the footpath about 65 metres from my office at work. I had just washed my car at 3am and sped around the block to dry most of the water off and I saw him laying there. I just thought he was just passed out but 2 hours later he was still there and sure enough he was dead. There's a stain on the pavement and I would feel weird sleeping there now so I see what you mean.

    That's normal. Some people just have their opinions on what they find gross/disgusting and yours happens to be the beds. No worries.
