With singers out there like Nicki Minaj or Keisha (I'm not quite sure how to do the stylized spelling of it), I can see why you would feel that way.
While I find it normal that you feel that way towards singers that exploit the work of their song-writers and their auto-tune machines and still gain more respect than genuine artists, it's not really right to feel that way about ALL singers. In fact, some, if not MOST of them actually DO take pride in the art of verbal expression and the poetic and artistic value of their song and writing.
Artists tend to sell out quickly though. Can you blame them? That industry can make you wealthy for many generations to come if you play your cards right...
IIN I find it annoying when a singer is referred to as an artist?
