Listen...forget about all that shit and be who you are. If you are strong enough in your own convictions, nothing can stand in your way. It's not a gender thing, it's a you thing. No offence, but you need to stop worrying about what everybody else is doing and plant your feet firmly on the ground and be who you are.
And in saying that, I need to add that as long as what you're doing yields productive, positive results. What everybody else is doing or thinking is of absolutely no consequence to your own journey. Be your own man.
