I'm not a fan of hot, dry weather, nor am I a fan of overly bright sunlight. It feels so oppressive and overwhelming. The hot, humid summers of the Houston area are quite excruciating, but the hot, dry conditions of Las Vegas feel like death. Several years ago an opthamologist discovered sun damage in my left eye, and told me I'm at a risk for skin cancer. As horrible as it sounds I feel an odd sense of validation now that I have a medical reason to avoid the sun.
