I agree that western governments are about as fucked up as most other governments.
But not for the reasons you think.
If you want to live in a warmongering police state, why don't you move to one? The question you have to ask yourself is why is your country any better than some middle eastern one? Because I feel if you were in charge it wouldn't be much different.
That's the problem. Is stopping a monster worth becoming a monster yourself?
It's happened over and over again all over the world. Almost every evil dictator started as the leader of a rebellion against another evil dictator.
Eventhough non-violence looks like foolishness to a lot of people, it has been proven to be way more effective than bloodshed when it comes to fighting injustice. Just like how harsher punishment has never actually reduced crime. That's just what feels logical to the human mind. But in reality countries that focus on rehabilitation have significantly lower crime rates.
