  • They turned the story of turing into a movie. But they really stretched the truth a lot, the real person who cracked nazi codes was definitely not gay and remaibs anonymous to this day. But its still a fun story about the gay guy

    • Hollywood films are almost always inaccurate for the purpose of making them more entertaining. I haven't see the film so I can't speak to its accuracy. But my facts are correct. I didn't say he was personally breaking codes, I said he developed algorithms and ciphers used for that purpose. He did this as a leading member of a large team of people assigned to code breaking. Though I am sure there are many unknown members of that team that broke codes, to say the work was done by a single anonymous person is inaccurate. To say that he did not greatly contribute to the efforts of a team he helped lead using systems and devices he helped to develop and invent would also be very inaccurate. He is owed much of the credit and I believe I am accurately giving him the credit due. If you are actually interested in the topic, you may enjoy reading some information at the following link.
