Is it normal I feel that noone will ever meet my standards?

  • Sure it's normal, considering that the majority of the population is average. It's the the most frustrating conflict that we must endure, especially if, in addition to being merely quirky and eccentric, mental illness plays a role in the way your brain functions. Because while our idiosyncrasies hold great value with respect to our potential and creativity and whatnot, it's so difficult to thrive in a society designed by normal people. It's very, very difficult to relate to others when you're so different. The goal, I guess, is to utilize your strengths, and hope that you meet others along the way that possess a similar mental capacity.
Ugh, and with respect to the whole mental illness issue...society screwed that up as well. There's such a negative stigma associated with mental illness, and I hate how there's so much we could be doing to improve treatment, and diagnoses, etc. But that's an issue for another day...
