You sound American. Only an American would put so much emphasis on someones skin colour. I fail to see the difference between a poor white person and a poor black person.
I remember when people with a certain skin color were threatening and beating me. They certainly saw a difference between a poor white person and a poor black person.
Though the real difference is that poor black people have people to advocate for them whereas poor white people do not.
