Well let me try and put it down for you:
when he touched you he surd of accidentally told your brain: He can touch you, it is possible to have relationship there, its forbidden, but can physically happen.
the fact that he's a teacher I believe that respectively he looks down on you, not to be mean, just he sees you as "one of the kids", but was very nice about it i guess, that position puts him as a strong leading male in your pov. (even if it's subconscious)
it is very natural thing to happen, even for a guy.
My advice?
don't go much into it... in fact, instead of hurting your brain and heart fantasizing about things, just use it!
use it to have high level of expectation from man, making guys feel more on test when hitting on you, be available but hard, this crush can help you out in doing it more natural since you truly are looking for more.
second, use it also to teach yourself self restraint, ignore looking at him! attractive girls don't look even if they are interested, to do that exact thing you said happened to you with him, when he looked at you you felt acknowledged... attractive woman use this situation, to have this ONE single look, that pumps up the guy's heart, making him feel "there's chance!!!! yaaaa!!!" and if he does anything to steal her attention, she gives him another look, looking at what he is doing, aka putting him on the test plate. that cute long death stare ;) (looking = keep going I'm listening, looking away = you're out)
so again, use this to learn how to ignore the guy you desire. in this case it will be completely not looking at all (unless he actually address you or talks to you, then you replay whatever, smile, and go on.)
