Is it normal i feel relieved, almost glad about this?

On the 12th of July my mum passed away, we had her funeral on the 17th. She had MND (it's the same thing Steven Hawking's has) for over 2 and a half years. I cried at the funeral, and since then I've felt sad for a few minutes maybe 2-3 times but the rest of the time I've just felt relieved/glad. Even when people bring it up I don't feel particularly sad about it. I feel really horrible because I don't want people to think I don't care about my mum, because I do. Idk why I feel glad/relieved.

I can't imagine the difficulties you would have faced watching your mother deteriorate. Feeling relief is normal. I imagine it would be relief that she is no longer suffering, as well as relief that you no longer have to struggle along with her.

You're not wrong for that, and it doesn't nullify your grief or your love for your mother.

I'm sorry. I hope things get bearable soon.

Totally normal. Grief is a complex thing. I felt a combination of sad , relief and guilt for feeling relieved when my mom and stepdad passed away.

Yes, while you may be devastated that she is gone you can find peace in knowing she no longer has to deal with the pain and stress of her condition.
