I had the pleasure of meeting the heaviest Burmese Python in Europe last year, weighing in at 14 stone (88kg) and stretching out 18 feet he was a monstrously beautiful sight to behold. I got talking to his owners and asked if they could possibly get him out of his tank for a slither but sadly they couldn’t that day. My friend said looking in his eye made her feel like prey for the first time. If they couldn’t kill me I’d want a female one as they’re bigger, I’d raise her to be 20ft long and call her Nokia.
Tarantulas I sometimes find cute, so long as they’re safely behind a screen. Sitting on their webs with their fluffy little legs. I would never want to meet one without the screen though.
Reptiles I’m indifferent too, expect for chameleons the way they move their eyes independently then just leave them still makes them look endearingly zoned out and they grasp things people pass them with such seriousness. I don’t see any appeal to a scorpion though, they belong far away from me.
Is it normal I feel drawn to "creepy" animals?
