Is it normal i feel a comfort in being sad?

Yes, I am quoting a Nirvana song, but I do feel this comfort in being sad. It's hard to describe but it's like a comfort zone. Is this normal?

Yeah I think that's why people like tear-jerker movies. when I feel dulled inside, I'll embrace intense feelings, even if they are negative.

  • The pain becomes pleasure and sadness becomes warmth to revel in. I do this so often, but I find I need these lows to truly feel happiness, so embrace the life ur given and surrender to the emotions u feel, it makes u feel so much better, like a drug

  • I do that sometimes. I haven't felt like it very much since i'm been medicated for my depression, but i think its normal

There's something almost delicious about surrendering to the bleak or the dismal for a short period. I think it satisfies some human impulse in the same (but opposite) way that comedy does.

It's definitely weird.Sometimes I get so sad I just fall asleep for about 2 minutes. It's a mixture of extreme boredom and sadness and malcontent.Dissatisfaction.Sometime there is pain too but I think it's just a part of it.
You know, don't think you are not weird just because there are other people as weird or even weirder than you!Weirdo!

are you sure it's not self pity that your after? I'm not trying to be rude but I've read that sometimes people will allow others to hurt them because they think they will feel sorry for them after the fact and they get off on that feeling of being pitied.
