Is it normal, I don't want to vote for a president this year, 2012?

  • Always vote for the lesser of two evils. Just because neither is your ideal winner, that isn't really a good reason not to vote at all.

A lot of people seem to think that staying at home in protest will somehow make the situation any better. That isn't how the system works; in fact, it'll be worse because the parties don't try and win the votes of people who didn't vote, so they'll just move even further away from what you want. Vote for a third party, that is more of a protest than not voting at all.

By voting for a third party you show the big two parties where you want them to be. Republicans and Democrats care about appealing to the third party vote because it can mean the difference between winning and losing an election. By voting for a third party you are telling the major parties what you want them to be like next time.

    • Voting for the lesser of two evils is the greater evil. It's a key piece of our totally broken system. As long as politicians can count on a vote for just being less objectionable, they will never try for anything better than that. If people had the guts to vote only for actually GOOD candidates, that would change everything.

      • If people voted for good candidates and not 'who has a chance against the president' (according to the media), I genuinely believe Ron Paul would take office.
But they won't, so he won't.
        =[

    • What if there isn't a "lesser of two evils"?

      • One has got to be worse than the other, in my opinion. They may be similar, and may be terrible, but I think one must always be worse than the other.

    • Well, i don't really know who's honest and who's dishonest. I just don't want to vote for a faker. I don't want them to ruin the world, and then when people ask who i voted for, they think i'm a horrible person or something D:
