I went to a montessori school from k-3rd grade and I can tell you that when I transfered to a public school, the principal wanted to hold me back 2 grades because I had learned minimal... I got a math and writing tutor over the summer and barely made it into the fourth grade.
As for the hell hole called "public school", its a battle between torturous school hours and homework loads but the knowledge gained vs. the freedom to choose what to learn and when but not really learning anything.
Secretly i would move to finland because they have exceptional public schools wirh different ways of approaching things like no homework and tests but different studying methods and teaching lesson plans Ect...
