Is it normal i don't understand the "fast" sex life?

I just recently had sex for the first time an I don't understand how people could do it so loosely! Like if I met a girl at a party and we ended up having sex that night how could you trust her of not having any diseases even if you did use protection?! I'm just a little confused on how we could have sex that easy without really knowing what you could catch.

Totally understand where you're coming from. I will admit I have had sex with a guy on the same night that I met him. He had a girlfriend but I was hanging out with his roommate and his friends and we were all drinking and having a good time. I'm not going to blame alcohol, because ultimately I am the one who did it, but the alcohol did take away my shyness so it played a part in it. I guess I wasn't too worried about catching anything because I assumed he wasn't sleeping around tons because of his girlfriend but he did have sex with me so who knows. But yeah I see your point. Sorry I'm totally rambling but I just know what you mean hahaha

I think you have a sensible, meaningful outlook on sex.

It's very normal, don't trust anyome with your health. Also, something as intimant as sex shouldn't be thrown around so easily. ewwww. lol I have nothing against people that do that kinda thing, it just isn't for me. It's a trust that i won't get kidnapped and whored out just because i left with aman just because he's attractive.

Yup, stay sensible! : ) It's beyond me as well. Sometimes it's a peer pressure thing and people want to 'show off' about how many people they've slept with. Yeah, that's so impressive.... There's more to life and more to people.

I trust people generally. Most people don't have STDs, so the chance of running into someone who does is pretty low. Also, it's the duty of the person with the STD to inform you beforehand provided they know they carry it. That doesn't stop them lying, of course, but it does give me a right to be aggrieved they do lie. I've talked to people about STDs before and I've never met anyone who's had one and I know some people who sleep around far more than I do.

Maybe I'm just naive but I feel like while STDs are obviously a real thing, I think the threat of them is something society exploits and exaggerates to demonize casual sex.

People lie about the number of partners they've had, they lie about spouses, and relationship status, but you think they're going to be honest about STD's? I'm not trying to be a wise-ass but I think you're lying to yourself about the likelihood of acquiring an std.

I don't think most people would lie about those things. I don't think most people with an STD would withhold that information from someone who has a right to know it.

Good luck with that. How do you suppose std's get spread?

I suppose it happens because the vast majority of carriers don't even know they have an STD because they have no symptoms.

I'm a Nigerian Prince who is in need of your help. Please give me your bank account number so I can transfer my vast fortunes into your American account. You will be handsomely rewarded and given a position in my cabinet when I reclaim my reign. TRUST ME. I would never lie. I'll also throw in a book of Nigerian stamps, an AMC Gremlin, 3 goats, and a bottle of Old Spice aftershave.

that's not a very good way to look at it, there is a really high . The thing about stds are that there are ALOT of types, some people don't even know they have it. 1 in 15 people have chlamydia, there are no symptoms either so your kinda playing a trust game here..

Oh wow. You must be young. "Most people don't have std's". Here are 2 stats from the CDC:

      * 1 in 6 have Genital Herpes.
      * HPV is so common that nearly all sexually-active men and women get it at some point in their lives.

I'm not saying don't have sex. I'm saying...play it safe. There are MUCH MUCH worse things than HPV and the herps.

I've looked it up. 1 in 5 people have an STD in America, and I'll presume it's the same where I live. That's still definitely not "most", but I'll admit it's higher than I thought.

I agree, but I understand why some enjoy this. I like having a connection and knowing to person I sleep with, the sex is always better when you're comfortable with your partner.

You know, hooking up with somebody just for sex is OK, too. Sex is fun and needn't be an all or nothing proposition. If you only have sex with someone you love deeply, you are going to miss out on a lot of really fun flings. Emotional attachment has it's own problems and sometimes it's easier to not have all those complications.

I know that's why I said I understand why people enjoy it. I get why having no attachment at all can be better for some, but in my experience I can't get off unless it's with someone I really have feelings for. I've had hookups but it's not something I really liked.

I don't have a problem with people having flings for pleasure!

This is a smart mentality to have as long as you don't get too obsessive about it. It really is all about impulsiveness with a lot of people. And condoms don't work 100% of the time.

I agree. Whatever happened to sex being special? It is loosing its uniqueness with all of this whorish and unreasonable fast nonsense!

It is amazing if you are with someone special and you trust them so you dont have to worry about getting something. Single can be fun if you attracted to a person then you have to think about the chance of getting something. Sometimes its fun to get laid by a stranger.

I agree with you completely. Everyone I know has had multiple sex partners. A close guy friend of mine has like 13. He tried to explain to me why one night stands are fun. I still don't get it. I've only has sex with my boyfriend and I can't imagine ever wanting to be so close to anyone else that way. I dated another guy when I was still a virgin. He'd been with like 12 girls also. He said that he could never take me seriously because once I had sex for the first time I would "go sex crazy" and want to fuck a bunch of guys. I've been having sex with my boyfriend for like 7 years now and the idea of being with someone else repulses me. Sex is way too intimate to have with just anybody.

With any luck a good virus will evolve soon enough, one that can be transmitted through skin contact and has a good latency period during which it is impossible to detect. That will take care of what you describe, among many other deeper problems that we have today.

Sexually transmitted diseases are not as common as the media like to make out, very few people have them. I would be more worried about getting a girl pregnant however in the UK the morning after pill is easy to get a hold of at any chemist so that shouldn't even be that much of a worry.

The sad truth is that horny people tend to not think twice about it. I can easily sit here behind my laptop and say that I'd use protection and make sure that I didn't catch anything but when it gets down to it ... I'm the worst case of a Nympho and I'd have sex with an appealing person. I am trying to work with this though because getting an STD wouldn't be fun.

Honestly, I think it's just bizarre to sleep with a complete stranger. It's not only about the STDs or getting the girl pregnant there's more to intimacy than getting off.

You should stick to sucking cocks, less disease that way.

I agree with you. A women can be virgin for ever and suck some cocks. Nobody never talks about being virgin in the mouth: ) Guys as well! Never penetrated or penetrate and still virgin. Penetrated in the mouth is not considered sex in many countries with old laws: )
