Is it normal i don't like to have skin to skin contact with people?

I hate touching other peoples skin or having them touch me...it feels foreign/akward to me.I don't like touching people in general but I deal with it,the only people who I'm honest with about the whole touching thing are my mom and little brother, luckily I'm comfortabl enough to tell them im uncomfortabl with it so they understand. Is it normal?

Also didn't know which category to put this in so I put health.

Is It Normal?
Help us keep this site organized and clean. Thanks!

  • A serious health answer: No, this is not normal. It may make your life harder as you grow older and you're trying to find a mate. I'm a psychology major, and from what I have learned, this usually indicates childhood trauma. If you weren't touched enough (held, hugged, kissed, ect.) it will be hard for you to hold any kind of sexual relationships. it can also indicate that you were sexually abused. i wouldnt worry too much about it unless it begins to make life hard for you. I.E. you want a bf/gf but you dont want to hold hands, hug, ect. physical relationships are a must in ones life.

  • I am the opposite. If I meat a person and they don't shake my hand. I take it as a personal insult and would talk with them about it. It's a sign of respect.
And in your case. Later in life you will have a family. Surely you can't tell your partner "Go away! I hate touching" Or tell your crying baby "Call your mom. I don't touch people"

  • Do you have a white streak of hair by your forehead? Or a habit of calling everyone "sugah"?
